Get all the way to enter the credit card and then…
After making a work-related call, I decided to try one more time before going to complete my work for today and was able to order! Just a mear one-hour and 15 minutes after the coin went on sale!
SOLD OUT!
End of World War II 75th Anniversary American Eagle Silver Proof Coin
A-friggin’-men to that! I got all of those screens, more times than I want to say. Switching from Safari to Firefox at least had me stop proving I was a human. Private browser and switching VPN locations in Safari did not prove I was a human. When I finally got the gold to load at 12:02pm EST, it was sold out, so that means it was a ≤2 minute sell-out. I got the silver after about 8 minutes (including the same error as you on the credit card, though I also got the 1015 error after submitting my card on another try).
The British Mint handles this with a queue. Very simple. US Mint tried that a few years ago, I thought, why couldn’t se do that again? Then I could’ve seen that I’m #5000 in the queue so I already know I’m not getting the gold.
What a clusterf—.
Just got worse. TODAY”s announcement of Mayflower Coins “contradicts” the website. Emails state coins on-sale 12PM ET but website shows as 9AM ET. Another complete utter failure.
